Five years ago, Samsung showcased its AI-powered companion robot, Ballie, to explain how robots could help us with household chores. Last year, the company gave it a massive upgrade by equipping it with a projector. However, it was still not quite ready to reach consumers. Today, Samsung announced that people could buy Ballie later this year.

Samsung will start selling Ballie in the USA

At its CES 2025 keynote event earlier today, Samsung announced that people in the USA will be able to buy Ballie later this year. There is still no accurate release time frame yet, but we at least know it will go on sale before the end of this year. Looks like Samsung finally listened to us!

Samsung hasn't revealed its price tag or its availability in other countries.

You can watch what Ballie can do in our video below.

Ballie has three wheels to help it roam around in your home or follow you around. It has a pair of cameras, a mini projector, speakers, and a microphone. Of course, it has a bunch of sensors to create a three-dimensional map of your home. It also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. It runs Tizen OS.

It can listen to voice commands and control smart home devices. It can bring you the weather report, information about the things you ask, and even steam movies and TV shows on the wall. It can reportedly detect your foot taps and take them as input when you want to know more about a particular thing.

Samsung will likely reveal more information about Ballie's features and capabilities closer to its launch later this year.
