The upcoming Galaxy S25 will be an even more AI-centric smartphone than its predecessor. Galaxy AI is bound to get cleverer, and so will the Bixby virtual assistant, by the looks of it. AI may also massively improve notifications.
According to @GerwinvGiessen, Samsung will bring three big improvements to the Galaxy S25's notification system, powered by AI. See the list below.
- Prioritized conversations: The AI will determine which notifications for which conversations should get a higher priority and push them up the notification list.
- Summarized notifications: The AI will summarize messages through notifications.
- Automatic notification grouping: The AI will determine which notifications have the same source and group them accordingly.
Whether Galaxy S25 users will be able to opt out of these AI features is unclear, but Samsung could provide extra options through the Galaxy AI settings menu. This remains to be seen.
The Galaxy S25 series will be the first to ship with One UI 7 out of the box. Aside from improved AI features, the phones will also ship with a smarter Bixby assistant capable of more advanced natural language processing (NLP). Samsung teased these capabilities in a short video yesterday.
Some new AI features could be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series initially but may become available to more devices throughout 2025. Time will tell.
For now, Samsung gives prospective Galaxy S25 buyers the option to reserve the upcoming flagship for exclusive bonuses. The phones will be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked on January 22.
