When Google teased the Pixel Watch at Google I/O 2022, the company announced that it would bring the Google Home app to Wear OS. The Pixel Watch finally made its debut yesterday, and with it, the Google Home app for Wear OS as well. However, there wasn’t any information available if the app is exclusive to the Pixel Watch, and if that’s the case, when it would be coming to other smartwatches.

Well, during the Made By Google event yesterday, a new version of the Google Home app was released on the Play Store. This version allows you to install the Google Home app on all smartwatches running Wear OS 3.0 and higher. That means you can now download the Google Home app on all Samsung smartwatches running Wear OS, including the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 ClassicGalaxy Watch 5, and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

The Google Home app for Wear OS allows controlling Google Home-compatible smart devices right from your wrist. Up until now, the only way to control your smart devices from your smartwatch was to use Google Assistant voice commands. The Google Home app for Wear OS will give you a better user experience of controlling your smart devices from your smartwatch.

It is worth mentioning that the app is in the ‘Public Preview' stage right now, and it lacks a few features that you get on the Google Home app for smartphones. The app could also have a few bugs since it's new to the market. So, keep that in mind before you install it on your Galaxy Watch.
