Earlier this year, Google announced Play Games for Windows, a service that allows you to play Android games on your Windows PC. Initially, the service was available in a closed beta program in three countries: Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. Today, Google is moving Play Games for Windows to an open beta channel and expanding its availability to eight more countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and United States.

The gaming service was initially launched with twelve games. However, according to Ars Technica, there are now over sixty game titles available, including a few popular games such as Genshin Impact. Google has also managed to lower the minimum hardware requirements for running Play Games on a Windows PC. With that, all you need now to run Google Play Games on your PC is a computer or laptop with a quad-core CPU, integrated graphics, and Windows 10.

Google Play Games For Windows

If you live in any of the eleven countries mentioned above, you can experience Google Play Games on your Samsung (or any other branded) laptop by downloading the beta program from the official website and using your Google account to log into the platform. The standalone app for Google Play Games on Windows looks similar to Google Play Store on your smartphone or tablet, but it has longer descriptions for each game. Plus, it shows Windows-like notifications. You can also get Play Points for your in-game achievements.

The launch of Google Play Games comes after Microsoft brought Android apps and games to Windows 11 via Amazon AppStore. Google has spent years creating an ecosystem of Android apps and games, and it may not want Microsoft to run away with it in the PC market.
