If you want a dust and water-resistant smartphone then look no further, Samsung Galaxy S 4 Active is now available in the UK contract-free (SIM-Free). Previously, the handset was only available from carriers with a 12/18/24 month contract.
The Galaxy S 4 Active is now available from Carphone Warehouse for a price of £530, while Amazon UK is taking pre-orders at a shocking price of £676. But, there are some online retailers who are selling the device for under £500, the lowest price being at Clove Technology (£486). The standard Galaxy S4 costs around £560, so the Galaxy S4 Active is still less expensive than its bigger brother.
Many online retailer have stated that they are facing stock delay of the Galaxy S4 Active and will make it available starting next week, Amazon UK is also suffering from stock shortage and will dispatch the pre-orders on August 1. So, you may want to wait a few days for some good deals on this water and dust-resistant beast.
The Dust and Water Resistant (IP67) Galaxy S4 Active packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU clocked at 1.9GHz, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 8 Megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and a 2.1 Megapixel front facing camera, both sensors are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 FPS. The device is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) TFT LCD display panel, 16GB of internal storage with a MicroSD slot for storage expansion, Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, IR Blaster and a 2600 mAh battery. The device supports LTE connectivity, as well.
