Samsung has been the largest maker of TVs for a few years now, and the Korean manufacturer doesn't seem to be in the mood to let go of that title any time soon, continuing its lead in Europe's flat TV market in the January-June period with a 38 percent of the total market share. When it comes to LCD TVs, Samsung garnered a 39.6 percent share, while also reigning supreme in the Smart TV segment with a 44.1 percent share.
Samsung's hometown rival LG maintained second position, though with a 16.6 percent share that's considerably less than Samsung's, showing how strong a hold the latter has on Europe's TV market, mainly thanks to its varied product lineup catering to every segment. The third place was taken by Philips, falling just 0.1 percent short of a 10 percent share.
