Affected users say that the problem is with calls, not the earpiece/mic, as calls over VoIP services like Skype sound fine while calls made over Sprint's network are distorted to the extent of being unusable. Since this isn't an issue reported by users of other variants of the phablet, it's like a software problem specifically in the Sprint variant, as even replacement devices don't fix it. Sprint has acknowledged the problem and is looking for a solution, and Samsung is also currently relaying all complaints about the issue to the carrier, so let's hope a solution is found soon.
