Samsung reportedly showed off a bendable tablet prototype behind closed doors at Mobile World Congress this year, and now, according to a report from the Korean media, Samsung might be aiming for a commercial launch of a folding tablet in 2015. According to the report, the tablet will feature an 8 to 9-inch full HD OLED display that can convert into a much smaller smartphone-sized form factor by being folded twice. That's naturally quite a far-fetched idea judging by the technology that is available today, but numerous reports of Samsung getting closer to a real foldable product indicate that things could change radically in the months to come.
As is always the case with such devices, the folding tablet will likely be launched in limited quantities, and at a high price that would take it out of reach for most. Still, with innovation having come to a grinding halt in terms of form factor (phones have largely looked the same for a few years now, except for short departures like the Galaxy Round with its curved display), a folding tablet is something we would love to see, even if we won't be able to buy it for months after it makes a public appearance.
