Android port for the Samsung Wave (GT-S8500)

Samsung’s maiden Wave device can now run Google’s Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The feat was achieved by an XDA Forum developer who was working on it for the past couple of months and successfully managed to run on Android 4.0.4 on the defunct device. Admittedly, not yet ready for mass consumption, Wave users who know their way to flashing firmware can give it a try.

Some of the things that seem to work are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera whereas voice calling, SMS and MMS don’t work.
If you want you also can follow all his updates on the forums of SamMobile in this topic.

Good news, the developer (MikeyG) will try to make this run on the Samsung Wave II there are no words about the Wave3 yet.
