Ever since Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge don't support microSD cards there has been a lot of debate about the lack of expandable storage on these new devices. For many this might be a dealbreaker, particularly for those who don't want to spend extra money to buy a 64GB or a 128GB model. It should be kept in mind that the entire 32GB internal storage will not be available to users because the OS is going to take a big chunk out of it and so will the pre-installed applications.
Those who go with the 32GB Galaxy S6/S6 edge will have slightly more than 23GB storage available for their apps, files, music, movies and other content. That's after hooking up a Google account with the device and updating all of the pre-installed apps. Extrapolating this figure shows that users should expect about 55GB free on the 64GB model and around 119GB free on the 128GB model. The numbers might vary based on the region and carrier so these are just ballpark figures. Most smartphones with 32GB onboard storage usually don't have more than 25GB free so it's not like Samsung's new flagships are doing something out of the ordinary.
