We reported a few months back that Samsung might launch a new entry-level smartphone, the Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition, and the South Korean smartphone giant just did that in India. The device has been listed on the company's retail website with a price tag of INR 8,600 (~$129), and comes in three colors; Grey, White, and Silver.
The Galaxy Core Prime VE runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and features a 4.5-inch WVGA PLS LCD display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 2,000 mAh removable battery. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The device is currently listed as ‘out of stock' on the company's e-retail website for India.
We are confused as to why the company launched the Galaxy Core Prime VE at a price that is similar to that of the Galaxy J2‘s. The Galaxy J2 was recently launched in India, and it has better specifications than the Galaxy Core Prime VE, thanks to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, a qHD Super AMOLED display, and 4G LTE connectivity.
