Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23, the company confirmed recently. The event is going to take place in New York City. The company will confirm at this event when the handset is going to be released and how much it's going to cost.
Samsung is likely to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 8 soon after the handset is unveiled later this month. It may take a couple of weeks for the handset to start shipping, though. That just how it is with flagship smartphone launches.
A new report out of South Korea today claims that the Galaxy Note 8 release date is going to be September 15. It cites unnamed representatives of mobile network providers in the country. They say that the carriers in South Korea will start selling the Galaxy Note 8 from September 15.
“There is almost zero chance that it will change the release date of Galaxy Note 8,” one representative claimed. It's likely that the Galaxy Note 8 release might clash with the LG V30. LG's new flagship smartphone is also expected to hit the market around the same time.
The Galaxy Note 8 may have a two-week pre-order window, at least that's what the carriers down in South Korea believe.
