Samsung unveiled its 2018 QLED TV lineup earlier this week at its First Look event in New York. The company has now posted some videos online to detail how its QLED TVs have evolved. The company says that its new TVs are more immersive and in tune with users' lifestyles. To cater to the growing demand for large-size TVs, Samsung has introduced more models over 75-inches in 2018 compared to previous years.

Samsung predicts that the large-size TV category is going to grow by up to 40 percent every year which is why the 2018 QLED TV lineup brings more models over 75-inches. All models offer immersive visuals optimized by Samsung's Q-Engine to reduce issues that affect large TVs such as juddering and noise.

Samsung's 2018 QLED TV lineup also improves contrast ratio and deep with its 100 percent color volume. The models feature a new “Direct Fully Array” which carefully regulates brightness. The technology uses a full grid of LED backlights to accurate illuminate each section of the screen to deliver the best image quality possible.

This is what enables the new QLED TVs to darken certain areas of the screen while simultaneously illuminating others. “Ultra Black Elite” is a new anti-reflection technology which enhances on-screen blacks by eliminating screen reflection so that images remain vibrant and sharp at any angle.

Samsung had previously confirmed that its 2018 QLED TVs will feature Bixby. Not only is Samsung's virtual assistant is present on the new models, they also come with a new cloud solution called SmartThings Cloud which automatically recognizes all devices and makes life easier by connecting and managing all compatible devices through a single cloud.

A new Ambient Mode has been introduced with the 2018 lineup. Samsung has essentially rebuilt the off screen of its QLED TV into a display that can display that can provide relevant information and even double as a work of art. Ambient Mode displays information such as time, weather and news or it can be used to display pictures and videos on the screen even when nobody is watching the TV.

This enables the screen to blend in with the surrounding space by eliminating the monotony of a black screen. Samsung points out that the 2018 QLED TVs can operate in Ambient Mode for 24 hours a day without burn-in.

Samsung's regional divisions will confirm pricing for the 2018 QLED TV lineup in their respective markets. The new TVs should be available for purchase in the coming weeks.
