Months after their official unveiling, Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab A 10.1 in India. While the former is a midrange tablet that is priced like a flagship thanks to its AMOLED display, the latter model is a budget offering and carries a competitive price tag.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is the lightest and the thinnest tablet ever made by Samsung. Unfortunately, the device’s biggest selling point comes at a cost – both literally and figuratively. Apart from being priced way higher than an entry-level iPad, it lacks a headphone jack and seems to suffer from Wi-Fi dropout issues when held in a certain manner. You can read our review of the tablet to learn about it in detail.

The Tab S5e is priced at INR 35,999 (~$520) for the Wi-Fi-only variant and INR 39,999 (~$575) for the Wi-Fi+LTE variant. It is available for purchase starting today across all leading online and offline retailers in the country. As a launch offer, Samsung is offering the Book Cover Keyboard at a discounted price of INR 3,500 instead of the retail price of INR 7,999 for customers who purchase the device before July 31.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is a standard budget affair but is priced a bit more competitively. It sports a metal unibody design with a 10.1″ Full HD “corner-to-corner” display. Xiaomi, Samsung’s main competitor in India, hasn’t launched any tablets in the country in a long time, which should help in sales of this budget tablet.

It carries a price tag of INR 14,999 (~$215) and INR 19,999 (~$290) for the Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi+LTE variants, respectively. The former variant will be available for purchase only on Amazon.in and Samsung e-Shop starting June 26, while the latter will be available across all leading retailers beginning July 1. Both tablets come in silver, black, and gold.
