The international Galaxy Z Fold 3 variant is now getting the October 2023 update, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the USA is joining it. The October update first made its way onto the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in a few Latin American countries. Now it's coming to the USA on the unlocked variant.
The October 2023 update — for both phones — consists of this month's security patch. It's rolling out on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with model number SM-F926B and for the unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the USA, model number SM-F711U1.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 update can be identified by firmware version F926BXXS5FWI1. Meanwhile, Galaxy Z Flip 3 users in the USA can look for firmware version F711U1UES5GWI3.

Get the update OTA or install it manually
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 users in regions where the October 2023 update is available can attempt to trigger the process by opening the Settings app on their phones, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Alternatively, they can visit the firmware section of our website and download the files for the latest update, then install the October release using a Windows PC.
As far as what you should be expecting from this new update, the firmware versions pretty much confirm there are no new features. This isn't the One UI 6.0 update you're expected to receive eventually. It's a routine security patch, and according to Samsung's official tracker, it should address 12 vulnerabilities in Samsung's software and a couple dozen high-risk issues in Android OS.
