At CES 2024, Alienware announced two new QD-OLED gaming monitors, AW3225QF and AW2725DF. Now, the two monitors are available to purchase in the US.

Alienware AW3225QF

The Alienware AW3225QF has a 31.6-inch QD-OLED display panel from Samsung Display with 1700R curvature, a 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution, and a 240Hz refresh rate. The company is calling it the “world’s first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor.” It is an Nvidia G-Sync Compatible monitor with support for VESA AdaptiveSync. It supports Dolby Vision and comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. According to Alienware, it covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has a 1000 cd/m2 peak brightness in HDR.

Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-B port, and 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. It has AlienFX Lighting at the rear and comes with a stand that has height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. The company is offering a three-year warranty on the product for OLED burn-in, which is usually the main concern for people buying this type of monitor.

Alienware AW2725DF

The Alienware AW2725DF has a 26.7-inch QD-OLED screen with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate. This display panel also comes from Samsung Display. Unlike the larger model, this one is flat, and it has AMD FreeSync Premium Pro instead of Nvidia G-Sync. There is, however, VESA AdaptiveSync onboard. You also get support for Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. According to the brand, it covers 99.3% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has a 1000 cd/m2 peak brightness in HDR.

Connectivity options include 1x HDMI 2.1 port, 2x DisplayPort 1.4 ports, 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-B port, and 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. This model too comes with AlienFX Lighting, a stand with height, tilt, and swivel adjustment, and a 3-year burn-in warranty. This model has two direct rivals — MSI MPG 271QRX and Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 — which were also announced at CES 2024.

Prices and availability

Alienware has priced the AW3225QF at $1,199 and AW2725DF at $899 in the US. The brand made the two monitors available to purchase in the US on 11 January 2024, and you can get them from Dell’s website. The company hasn’t provided any information about when it will make the two products available in other regions.
