It seems like no day passes by without news of Samsung and its Android 13 progress cropping up. And today, you can add the Galaxy M42 5G to the list of phones that have received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 firmware.
The Galaxy M42 5G (SM-M426B) appears to have received One UI 5.0 in the Indian subcontinent. The new update includes the November 2022 security patch and carries firmware version M426BXXU3CVK5.
One UI 5.0 brings a new way to customize the lock screen, improved performance and UI animations, an easier method of managing background apps, redesigns to the Settings app, and overall, a more streamlined experience. Even though, at first glance, One UI 5.0 doesn't look all that different from One UI 4.1.
Galaxy M42 5G owners can check for Android 13 and One UI 5.0 by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” You can also check our firmware page, where you can download official firmware files that can be used for manual installation using a PC and Samsung's Odin tool.
