Android Auto becomes smarter with the Galaxy S24 series

Samsung's new Galaxy S24 flagships leverage the power of AI and Large Language Models to improve communications in many ways. They offer features such as Live Translate in phone calls, Interpreter, Chat Assist, and Transcript Assist. However, the power of AI now extends beyond the phones themselves and into the Android Auto platform.

The Galaxy S24 series makes it easier to communicate with people when you drive. Once you connect the Galaxy S24 to your vehicle via Android Auto, the phone will be able to summarize incoming messages and suggest replies and actions, like sending someone an ETA.

Available only for Galaxy S24?

Samsung says these new Android Auto features will be added through an app update, which could mean they won't remain exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series.

It might also mean that the cleverer Android Auto won't be available on the Galaxy S24 series at launch, but once this app update rolls out — at an unspecified date.

There's also the possibility that these new Android Auto upgrades will only be available for One UI 6.1 and up. So, even if we assume that older Galaxy phones can support them, they'll still need One UI 6.1. All these details remain to be determined.

If older flagships are old news and you want to pre-order the Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra, you can do that right now. And if you pre-order, you could benefit from free memory upgrades and other bonuses. Hit the “Pre-order” button below.
