Google’s Android Switch allows you to transfer contacts, call logs, messages, alarms, calendar events, photos, videos, app data, and more from iOS to Android, making it easier for you to move from an iPhone to an Android phone. However, there are still many things that the tool can’t move from one platform to another. One of those things are burst photos.
If you have taken burst photos with iPhone, you can’t transfer it to Android over Android Switch, as the transfer tool doesn’t support it. Well, not anymore.
Paul Dunlop, Product Lead for Android Onboarding and Android Settings at Google, has revealed that Google has updated Android Switch with the ability to transfer burst photos from iOS to Android. In his post on Threads, he said “With this update, you'll always keep your full set of burst photos when transferring via cable or WiFi, meaning you can always choose a different best shot, even after making the switch from iOS to Pixel.”
The story continues after the video…
We assume that Google has updated the Android Switch app for Android as well as that for iOS to offer the ability for transferring burst photos. In the post on Threads, Paul says “The feature is live now for up to date Pixel devices through initial setup and the Android Switch app.” We hope that Google also rolls out support to other Android phones. He also added that those burst photos will appear as a stack in Google Photos, which is a huge relief.
