Another Galaxy Z Fold 3 leak bares it all, much to Samsung’s dismay

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been extensively leaked in the weeks leading up to its launch. We already have a good idea about its design, price (in Europe and India), and a load of other details. Renowned leaker Ronald Quandt has, once again, cooked Samsung's goose by spoiling everything about its upcoming foldable.

New leak reveals the Galaxy Z Fold 3 spec sheet in its entirety

Many of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications outlined in the leak were nearly public knowledge. Nonetheless, it validates the legitimacy of said information and the people who leaked it. Starting with the outer screen, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will feature a 7.6-inch 2,208 x 1,768 foldable AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The secondary 6.2-inch AMOLED screen will share the same refresh rate and has a resolution of 2,260 x 832 pixels.

Samsung claims that the screen is good for up to 200,000 folds; a claim which can only be verified once the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is out and about. Quandt insists that the foldable screen will be protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus; however, we don't think that's the case as Samsung will very likely stick to UTG (ultra-thin glass).

Moving on to the heart of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, we get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC along with 12GB of RAM, coupled with 256/512GB of storage. We already knew about this quite some time ago, thanks to a report that told us that the foldable would be skipping the Snapdragon 888+ for its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 also continues the Galaxy S21 series' annoying legacy by skipping the micro SD expansion option.

On the topic of optics, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, for the most part, reuse its predecessor's 12MP + 12MP + 12MP camera layout. There is a slight upgrade, though, as the Galaxy Z Fold 3's ultra-wide-angle lens will support PDAF (phase detection autofocus). It also says that the cameras will be able to record videos at 8K, something that isn't possible with a 12MP sensor.

Then again, the Galaxy Z Fold 3'a magnum opus is its under-display selfie camera, which will use a paltry 4MP sensor. The cover display's selfie camera will be slightly better off with its 10MP module. The smartphone will ship with a 4,400mAh battery that can also be charged wirelessly. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and 5G. Lastly, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will run One UI 3.1 out of the box.

These specs more or less align with what we already know about the phone. At this point, we have no choice but to wait for Samsung's grand reveal of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 at Galaxy Unpacked on August 11.
