Apple Vision Pro could go on sale in the US on January 27

Apple unveiled the Vision Pro in June 2023. Back then, the company said that it would make the mixed-reality headset available to purchase in the United States in early 2024. While the new year is here, there’s no information from the brand about when the Vision Pro will go on sale. Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman have suggested that the mixed-reality headset will hit the shelves in the country in late January or early February. However, there hasn’t been a specific date yet. Well, that’s changing today with a new leak from China.

According to Wall Street Insights, Apple will make the Vision Pro available to purchase in the US on January 27, 2024. This is a Chinese website that focuses on financial and business topics, and it has no proven record when it comes to leaking information about Apple. So, the latest report from the publication should be taken with a pinch of salt.

January 26 is a more appropriate date for Vision Pro to go on sale

January 27, 2024, falls on a Saturday, and Apple usually doesn’t make announcements on weekends (as noted by Mac Rumors). The company mostly reveals information on weekdays so that the announcement aligns with normal business hours to get the maximum media coverage and stock market reaction.

Maybe Wall Street Insights is referring to January 27, 2024, in China, and in that case, it would be January 26, 2024, in the United States, which falls on a Friday. That seems like a more appropriate date for the Vision Pro to go on sale in the country as Apple has a track record of making announcements on Friday.

The actual launch date might be a few days here and there but considering all the reports, one thing is clear, the Vision Pro’s launch is on track, and it will hit the shelves in late January or early February this year. The mixed-reality headset carries a price tag of $3,499, making it inaccessible for many. On the other hand, Samsung’s upcoming XR headset, which it is developing with Google and Qualcomm, will be much more affordable. Apple is also rumored to be working on a more affordable version of the Vision Pro for 2026.
