Apple launches a new version of the Watch Series and the Watch Ultra every year, and people don’t expect 2024 to be any different. The company will most likely launch the Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3 next year alongside the iPhone 16 lineup. Now, a new report from Mark Gurman on Bloomberg reveals what the upcoming smartwatches from the company could offer.
According to Mark, Apple plans to offer at least one smartwatch with a new design next year. Unfortunately, he didn’t provide any information about which wearable will get the new design, the Watch Series 10 or the Watch Ultra 3. Furthermore, Mark claims that the company is planning to equip the Apple Watch lineup with sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring in 2024. Once again, he didn’t specify which of the two wearables will get these features but the article made it seem like Apple will offer the upcoming health-related options even on the Watch Series 10, which means that the Watch Ultra 3 will also get these features.
The analyst claims that these health-related features will take “the smartwatch to new heights.” The Watch Series 9 offers only minor upgrades over Watch Series 8, which, according to Mark is the reason why Apple isn’t expecting the Watch Series 9 to sell well. He says that will change with the upcoming models. “Imagine when Apple is able to make an ad touting how it invented the ability to take a blood pressure reading from the wrist. I think that’s going to sell a lot of devices,” he added. While the news sounds very exciting, there is still a lot of time remaining till the launch, and anything could happen between now and then. So, don't hold your breath.
