Through the ‘Intelligent Living: how AI is Enhancing Everyday Experiences' survey, Samsung found that 53% of Europeans want AI to enhance their entertainment, simplify their lives, and improve their quality of life.

However, only 15% of folks surveyed in Europe say they know how to leverage the power of AI to achieve those things in their day-to-day life. Meanwhile, 38% of Europeans say they don't feel included in the AI conversation at all.

What are the top AI priorities for European users?

When asked what their expectations about AI are, a majority of people said they want better AI for IoT (Internet of Things).

More specifically, 42% of participants expect AI to help them manage smart home devices and make home life more convenient. 24% of participants said AI-based smart home management is the most desired feature enabled by AI.

  • 33% of participants say they are interested in AI-powered solutions for vacuuming and cleaning.
  • 28% say they want AI to assist with cleaning kitchen appliances.
  • 25% want help with washing the dishes.
  • 23% want AI technologies to help them manage grocery lists and cook meals.
  • 21% want AI to help manage household bills and finances.

Participants also said they want AI to be safe and secure. 37% of survey respondents claimed that regular updates are essential to ensure the highest level of security.

The Intelligent Living: how AI is Enhancing Everyday Experiences survey also suggests that 66% of Europeans hope that AI will allow them to find more time to engage in their hobbies and favorite activities. 41% expect AI to enhance their creations, and 37% say they believe AI can help them prioritize their passions.

Here are a few more facts on how Europeans view AI for entertainment, wellness, and health.

  • When watching TV, 23% say real-time translation is the most desired AI feature.
  • 27% say they want AI to improve picture definition.
  • 27% say they want AI to detect background noise and adjust sound quality.
  • 50% want AI to help prevent illness, with 32% wanting to use AI for tailored diet plans, 24% for exercise routines, 34% for personalized lifestyle adjustments, and 31% to track and improve sleep patterns.

Industry watchers expect the AI market in Europe to grow by 35% this year. And, in Samsung's view, “AI should enhance daily life by being an invisible helper that simplifies tasks without demanding attention.”
