As a mobile gamer, I can’t imagine anything better than the Galaxy Z Fold 5

I'm an avid mobile gamer and that was one of the reasons why I switched over to the very first Galaxy Fold when it came out in 2019. I liked the idea of having an almost tablet-sized display in my pocket that would be great for immersive gaming, while also providing me the flexibility of using it as a normal phone.

I've never looked back since then. I've used every single iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold since then and the gaming experience on these devices has improved with every generation. With the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung has just knocked it out of the park. Allow me to explain.

Story continues after the video

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the perfect gaming phone for me

The first reason is quite obvious. Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with the best in mobile technology. It gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which delivers an 18% increase in CPU and 32% increase in GPU performance compared to its predecessor in the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The impact of this change is immediately noticeable. You'll notice fewer dropped frames, smoother gameplay, and less lag when playing online multiplayer. All of this contributes to a significantly elevated gaming experience on the device.

Samsung has also improved the foldable display panel, particularly its peak brightness, which now sits at 1,750 nits. I particularly love how much more comfortable it makes for me to play games when I'm sitting outdoors. The screen gets nice and bright even under direct sunlight.

Lastly, it's far more comfortable to play games on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 for extended periods because of the weight that it has dropped. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is lighter than its predecessor so it doesn't tire out the hand as much. When unfolded, it's also slimmer than last year's model, so it's more comfortable to hold with a firmer grip.

The blend of all of these factors, plus the improved battery life, make the Galaxy Z Fold 5 one of the best devices for mobile gaming on the market for me. I like that when I'm done with the game play, I can just fold up the device and use it just like any other phone. You don't get this sort of flexibility with one of those purpose-built gaming phones.

If you'd like to explore this for yourself, go ahead and pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 5 from Samsung. You still have until tomorrow to benefit from all of the amazing pre-order deals.
