Google, during the Pixel 8 announcement, unveiled the ‘Assistant with Bard' for 2024. However, if we go by the latest reports, before its launch on Android, Google may change the name of ‘Assistant with Bard' to simply ‘Bard‘. We have already given you a glimpse of the UI of Bard and how Google has optimized bard.google.com for mobile.
Moreover, the initial setup screens were also shared for the Bard AI. Now, as spotted by folks at 9To5Google, the friendly introduction of Bard has been reworded from Hi! I'm Assistant with Bard to Hi! I'm Bard. This change was spotted in the Google app v15.2 and this is not the only change.
The ‘Assistant with Bard' mentions have been updated to just ‘Bard'
According to the report, a good number of ‘Assistant with Bard' mentions have been replaced or updated with just ‘Bard'. This suggests that going forward, and ahead of its launch, Google won't call its next-gen AI ‘Assistant with Bard', which, to be honest, is a great move. Here are the updated mentions:

Assistant with Bard Settings | Bard Settings |

Additionally, Google is also calling Bard a digital assistant and not just an updated version of Google Assistant. Also, the word ‘classic' is no longer used as a modifier to talk about the old Google Assistant.

So, all in all, it seems like at its Android launch, ‘Assistant with Bard' will simply be called ‘Bard', and Google may use ‘Google Assistant' in another rebrand.
