Since Samsung Display launched the QD-OLED panels, they have made their way into Samsung Electronics’ TVs as well as many gaming monitors, including the ones from Alienware, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, and MSI. However, there’s no professional monitor for creators with the company’s QD-OLED display panel in the market. Fortunately, that’s changing today.
Asus has launched the ProArt Display OLED PA32UCDM. From what we could gather, it is the world’s first professional monitor for creators with a QD-OLED display panel from Samsung. The monitor has a 31.5-inch screen with a 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution, 1,000 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and support for two HDR metadata formats, HDR10 and HLG. Unfortunately, Asus hasn’t provided any information on the refresh rate of the monitor.
Being a professional monitor aimed at creators, the ProArt Display OLED PA32UCDM comes pre-calibrated from the factory with an average delta-E value of less than one. It features the ProArt Hardware Calibration technology that “provides color-accuracy optimization and color profile write-back.” In addition to that, it also works with “Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional hardware calibration software.”
It works with macOS and Windows. Connectivity options include at least one HDMI 2.1 port and one Thunderbolt 4 port with up to 96W power output. Its stand has a 50% smaller base than that of the previous model. There are also “built-in anchor points and a partition wall bracket.” Asus hasn’t provided any information on the pricing and the availability of the monitor. Expect it to release those details in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can learn more about Samsung’s QD-OLED in our video below.
