Today, Samsung unveiled two new wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Both earbuds have a brand-new design, improved audio quality, and clearer call quality. In this article, we will explain some of the best Galaxy Buds 3 features you need to know.

Best Galaxy Buds 3 Pro features

With the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Samsung has introduced an all-around improvement over the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. There have been improvements in call quality, music quality, controls, customizability, durability, and battery life. Here are the five most important improvements.

1. Dual-driver setup and new wireless codec

The most important aspect of any wireless earbuds is their audio quality. Samsung has improved that with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro's new dual-driver setup and higher-quality audio codecs.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Dual Driver Amplifier Setup

It has a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm planar driver. Planar drivers are used for vocals and high-frequency sounds, and they are generally associated with higher details and a wider soundstage.

Samsung has also introduced a new, higher-quality wireless audio codec called Samsung Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality (SSC UHQ). It features a 24-bit 96KHz sampling rate and near-lossless audio. They continue to feature AAC and SBC codecs as well.

The combination of a new audio driver setup and the SSC UHQ codec offers improved audio quality.

2. Better call quality with AI

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have stems, which is a huge design change compared to previous-generation Galaxy Buds. Some people might not like the stems, but they bring the microphones closer to the mouth, allowing the voice to be recorded more clearly.

Samsung also uses a feature called Super Wideband (SWB) Call to record a wider voice bandwidth of 16KHz, providing richer and more natural call quality.

In addition to these two features, Samsung is using Galaxy AI to reconstruct lost voice information in noisy environments. It uses machine learning (ML) to make this happen.

With the help of all these changes and improvements, Samsung claims the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro offer much better call audio quality than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

3. More reliable controls

The stems also bring more reliable and easy-to-use controls. You can pinch to play or pause music, switch between ANC and Ambient modes, and accept or reject calls.

You can also swipe up or down over the stems of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro to adjust the volume. These gestures are more reliable than touch gestures on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and other previous-generation Galaxy Buds.

4. Adaptive ANC and Adaptive EQ

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro use Galaxy AI to adjust the ANC and audio equalizer according to the situation. The Adaptive ANC feature adjusts the strengths of active noise cancellation and audio passthrough based on the ambient sounds.

If there is a siren or a person speaking directly in front of you, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro reduces the ANC and allows outside audio to pass through to your ears, letting you stay aware of important things around you.

During music playback, you don't need to constantly switch between multiple equalizer presets, as the new earbuds can adjust the equalizer settings automatically based on the music genre you are listening to.

5. IP57 rating

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are more durable than their predecessors. The earbuds have an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance to withstand rain and accidental falls inside a pool or on the beach.

This is an improvement over the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro's IPX7 rating, which has no resistance to dust particles.

In addition to all these improvements, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also last a bit longer than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

The new wireless earbuds can last up to 7 hours on a single charge and up to 30 hours with the charging case when ANC is turned off. If ANC is turned on, the earbuds last up to 6 hours, while the total playtime with the case stays at the 30-hour mark.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also have fancy ‘Blade Lights' on the stems, which display the battery level and help you find the earbuds in dark rooms.
