A new entry into the Bluetooth database confirms one expected Galaxy Tab S9 feature. Unsurprisingly, Samsung isn't giving up on the iconic S Pen for its upcoming high-end tablet series. Said S Pen has now earned its Bluetooth certificate.
According to the online application published today, the S Pen that Samsung will ship alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 has model number EJ-PX710 and meets the Bluetooth 5.1 specification. No other details were revealed, but the S Pen will probably attach to the tablet as it does with existing models.
Galaxy Tab S9 is coming later this year
Early fan-made renders predict that upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 should have more or less the same design as the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 series. The upcoming Tab S9 may have a magnetic S Pen holder on the back panel, so it doesn't look like much has changed in this regard.
When paired with the rich suite of productivity apps Samsung offers (or with various other third-party solutions), the S Pen is one of the best productivity and artistry tools for most Galaxy tablets. It's not a big surprise that the Galaxy Tab S9 will rock one, but it's nice to have confirmation that the iconic input device isn't going away.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Tab S9 series later this year. Most likely, the tablet will accompany the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 at Unpacked in August-September.
