BTS hiatus could be the end of Samsung Galaxy BTS Edition devices

The K-pop group BTS is going on a hiatus, and unfortunately, this could mean that Samsung will no longer release any BTS Edition Galaxy smartphones for the foreseeable future.

BTS is a pop music phenomenon. The group has added billions of dollars to the South Korean economy every year. Samsung's partnership with BTS has helped the company put several Galaxy devices on the map, especially for the younger crowd.

We were hoping for another BTS Edition Galaxy smartphone — especially the Galaxy Z Flip 4 — to be unveiled later this year. But now that the group is on a hiatus and each member is pursuing a solo career (via Billboard), the chances of a BTS Edition device coming in the future seem very small.

And that's rather unfortunate given that BTS could've had the influence to make the Galaxy Z Flip 4 the most popular foldable phone in the world by far. The K-Pop band has appeared in Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 promotional materials, but the last true BTS Edition Samsung devices were the purple Galaxy S20+ and Buds+ featuring the ARMY logo.

However, all is not lost for fans. BTS is on a hiatus, and with no evident plans set in stone, the band might eventually make a return. And perhaps solo members of the group will continue collaborating with Samsung for future Galaxy devices, even if they won't fit the usual BTS Edition mold. Time will tell.
