Some of the best Samsung deals crop up during pre-order periods. For example, early Galaxy Z Fold 5 adopters who have ordered the device before August 11 could take advantage of a free storage upgrade. The pre-order period ended, but Samsung is now bringing back the free storage upgrade deal with one caveat.
For a limited time, Samsung is willing to sell you the 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 5 for the price of the 256GB model. So, instead of paying $1,919 for the 512GB Z Fold 5, you can now buy the 512GB foldable flagship for $1,799.
Note that the free storage upgrade doesn't apply to the 1TB model, i.e., you can't get the 1TB variant for the price of the 512GB one.

You have to pick one of these Galaxy Z Fold 5 colors
There is but one caveat to this new storage upgrade deal. It's valid only for two color options, so you'll have to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in Phantom Black or Icy Blue. If you want the device in Cream or two of the online-exclusive color options, you won't get the free storage upgrade to 512GB.
If you want to pay even less for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, you can get up to $1,000 instant trade-in credit upon exchanging select smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is eligible for the $1,000 trade-in value, whereas trading the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can net you an $800 discount.
Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a redesigned gapless hinge that lets the phone fold flat and is now thinner than any of the company's previous foldable phones. It's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “for Galaxy” chip, 12GB of RAM, and a 4,400mAh dual-battery. The foldable flagship runs One UI 5.1.1 out of the box but will be among the first Samsung phones to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update.
