Samsung is almost done releasing the May 2024 security patch to high-end and mid-range devices, and with that, the company is now shifting its focus towards rolling on the latest security update to low-end and entry-level devices.
Today, Samsung is rolling out the May 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G for the United States, which carry the model numbers SM-A135U and SM-A136U respectively.
The update that brings the May 2024 security patch to the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G changes their firmware version to A135USQS8DXE2 and A136USQS9DXE5 respectively. The latest security update fixes 45 security issues.
How do I get the update?
To get the update on your Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If you don’t see an update, you’ll have to wait for a few days for Samsung to make it available for your device.
Although the update doesn’t bring any new features or performance improvements, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA update, you can download the firmware from our database and install it manually using a Windows PC and Odin.
The Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G are eligible to get One UI 6.1, which brings a lot of new features. Expect Samsung to roll it out to the two devices in the next few weeks. Check out the video above to learn more about One UI 6.1
