Three weeks ago, Samsung released the June 2023 security update to the Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A51 5G. However, back then, the update was limited to the global versions of these phones. Now, the US variants of the Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A51 5G have started getting the new security update.
The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A51 comes with firmware version A515USQUAFWF3 in the US. The update is now available on Sprint's network but could expand to more carriers soon. The new update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A51 5G is now live with firmware version A516USQUDGWF1 on Metro PCS, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks in the US.
Galaxy A51 and A51 5G June 2023 security update: How to download and install?
The June 2023 security patch included in the new software update fixes more than 50 security flaws. It is an SMR (Security Maintenance Release) only, so don't expect the new software update to bring any new features or performance improvements. The update has been a few weeks late, but it is finally here nonetheless.
If you have a carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A51 or the Galaxy A51 5G, you can check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
