Samsung had released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy S20 in Europe three weeks ago. The update then rolled out in more markets over the next few days. Now, the Android 12 update for the Galaxy S20 series has reached the US, and carrier-locked models have started getting it.

The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update for the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra bears firmware version G981USQU2EULH. Apart from Android 12, the new update also brings the December 2021 security patch to the smartphones.

If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user in the US, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update brings a refreshed UI design, complete with the Color Palette feature and new widgets to the Galaxy S20. Samsung has added new widgets, improved stock apps, and added more features to Bixby and Bixby Routines.

Samsung has also implemented quick setting toggles for enabling/disabling system-wide access to the camera and microphone. New privacy indicators show when any app or service uses the phone's camera or microphone. The latest update also offers improved performance.
