Samsung had released its latest security update to the Galaxy S20 FE last week, but it was limited to the international variant of the device. Now, the company has started rolling out the update to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S20 FE in the US.
The latest update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G (SM-G781U) comes with firmware version G781USQS6EVB1, and it includes the February 2022 security patch. According to Samsung's documentation, the new security update will fix over 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The latest update could also include device stability improvements and general bug fixes.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in the US, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. Don't forget to backup your data, though.
The South Korean firm is yet to release the February 2022 security update to the unlocked Galaxy S20 FE 5G models in the US. The smartphone was launched in late 2020 with Android 10 on board. Samsung released the Android 11 update to the device in early 2021 and the Android 12 update in early 2022.
