After releasing the September 2022 security patch to international Snapdragon and Exynos versions of the Galaxy S21 FE, the company is now pushing the update to the carrier-locked variant of the device. The update is available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks in the US.

The latest software update to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990USQS4CVI1. The update brings the September 2022 security patch, which fixes 24 security vulnerabilities, and that’s about it. The update brings no new features to the table. Samsung is yet to push the September 2022 security patch to the carried unlocked versions of the S21 FE in the USA.

Your Galaxy S21 FE should automatically prompt you to update the device, but if it doesn’t, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy S21 FE was launched with Android 12 and One UI 4. The smartphone is promised to get four major Android OS updates, which means that it will be compatible with the Android 16 update.
