After the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, even the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 FE has started getting the One UI 4.1 update in the US. This new update brings a lot of new and improved features, including the ability to turn off GOS and screen sharing via Google Duo Live Sharing.
The new update for the carrier-locked model of the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990USQU2CVC3 in the US. The update is currently available on T-Mobile's network, and other US carriers are expected to release it soon. It includes the March 2022 security update that fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities.
If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user on T-Mobile's network in the US, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Galaxy S21 FE One UI 4.1 features
The One UI 4.1 update brings dozens of new features like Google Duo Live Sharing, portrait videos using the telephoto lens, improved Color Palette feature in Google's apps, improved Quick Share, and Smart Widgets. Samsung has also added new features to AR Zone, Samsung Health, Smart Switch, Samsung Keyboard, SmartThings Find, and Bixby Routines.
The built-in Gallery app now offers Shadow Eraser and Reflections Eraser. It also offers the ability to add portrait effects to any image with human subjects and the option to change the background color. Portrait relighting is supported too.
Samsung Health offers ways to reach body composition goals and better sleep coaching. With the new version of Samsung Health, you can add interval training targets for cycling and running. It also offers information about sweat loss and heartrate recovery information for aerobic workouts.
With Quick Share, you can share Wi-Fi credentials and image edit history for edited images. AR Zone offers options to add GIFs from Tenor and the ability to turn real-world objects into 3D stickers. You can view the complete changelog here.
