The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra were one of the first devices from Samsung to get the May 2023 security patch. The company started rolling out the latest security update to the international variants of the devices last Tuesday. Today, Samsung is extending the new update to the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S23 series devices in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with firmware version S91xUSQS1AWC9 in the US for carrier-locked versions. According to the changelog, it brings May 2023 security patch, which fixes more than 70 security issues. A few reports have suggested that this update might improve the low-light performance of rear cameras. However, there’s no confirmation about it yet.

Since the update is rolling out in phases, some users might get it before others. In case your phone hasn’t notified you about the update yet, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software updates, and clicking on the Download and install button. The new update should also be available on our firmware database soon.

Now that the international and carrier-locked variants have received the May 2023 security patch, the unlocked models are next in line to get the latest security update. With Android 14 Beta 1 out, Samsung could soon open the One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy S23. You can expect a stable release by the end of Q3 2023.
