Samsung has released the Android 13 update to the Galaxy A42 5G. However, it is currently available only for the Korean version of the phone (SM-A426N). While the other variants of the phone are awaiting the Android 13 update, Samsung is rolling out November 2022 security patch to the carrier-unlocked version of the Galaxy A42 5G in the US.
The firmware version of the November 2022 security update for the Galaxy A42 5G's carrier-unlocked model is A426U1UES4CVL1. Apart from the November 2022 security patch, which fixes 46 security vulnerabilities, the update might also have bug fixes and stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy A42 5G user in the US, you should get a notification on your smartphone about the update. If you still haven’t received the update, you can check for it now by heading to Settings » Software Update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the update from our firmware database and flash it manually.
For those who are waiting for the Android 13 update on their Galaxy A42 5G, expect the update to arrive within a matter of days, as the company has already released it in Korea. Considering that the Galaxy A42 5G was launched with Android 10 and is supposed to get three major upgrades, the Android 13 could be the phone’s last OS update.
