Samsung has released a new security update to the Galaxy S22 series in the USA. This update comes right after the company released the One UI 6.1 update to its flagship smartphone lineup from 2022.
Factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 gets May 2024 security update in USA
The new software update for the Galaxy S22 is currently available in the US, but only for factory-unlocked models. It comes with firmware version S90xU1UES5EXE2 and has a relatively small download size. It includes the May 2024 security patch that fixes 45 security vulnerabilities and nothing else.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series device in the USA which is a factory-unlocked unit, you can check for the new update right now. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

An alternative method to installing the new update on your device includes downloading the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flashing it manually. You would need access to a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The device received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. It will likely get the Android 15 update in late 2024.
