Yesterday, the first live photo of the upcoming Galaxy SmartTag 2 Bluetooth-UWB tracker emerged through an FCC application. According to that photo, the accessory looks very different from the first model. And now, case manufacturer Spigen appears to have spilled the beans and confirmed the SmartTag 2's complete redesign.
In a promotional photo shared through a social media post that appears to have been removed, Spigen revealed a new range of cases for the Galaxy Watch 6 series, the Galaxy Tab S9, and surprisingly, a small device that looks an awful lot like the Galaxy SmartTag 2.
Thanks for the tip @Quakezen
Even though the accessory is wrapped in a Spigen protective case, the same design we saw in yesterday's FCC application shines through. The Galaxy SmartTag 2, which Samsung has yet to announce, has an oblong shape with a big keyring hole.

Once again, the size of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 remains in question. In the render shared by Spigen, the accessory looks bigger than its predecessor, but this might be an illusion caused by perspective.
Next to the Galaxy Tab S9, the SmartTag 2 looks outright giant — unrealistically so, and too big to be of any practical use as a Bluetooth-UWB tracker. But next to the Galaxy Watch 6 series, the SmartTag 2 seems small enough.
Although it's difficult to tell, we're guessing that the Galaxy SmartTag 2 revealed in Spigen's render is part of the foreground rather than the background. In other words, the tracker is likely smaller than it looks.
It's still unclear when Samsung will release the Galaxy SmartTag 2. But it is curious that the accessory appeared in this Spigen render next to several devices that Samsung unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked last week. Perhaps the Korean tech giant originally planned to release the tracker alongside its latest flagship phones, smartwatches, and tablets. But it's equally possible Spigen took a shot in the dark concerning availability and missed the mark.
