There's a lot of excitement in the air for Samsung's new foldable smartphones. It will unveil both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 at an Unpacked event next month. Earlier reports have revealed that the new handsets are going to be cheaper.
This is great news for those who have been holding out on foldable smartphones due to the price. There's even going to be an opportunity to get the cheaper new foldable smartphones for even less.
Trade-in options to make the new foldables cheaper
We have exclusively revealed already that a big price cut is on the cards for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. They will be up to 20 percent cheaper than their predecessors. Subsequent reports have also confirmed the price cut.
The latest whispers out of South Korea further reiterate that the new foldables will cost less than the previous generation. Customers will be able to get them for even less provided that they have an existing Samsung foldable smartphone.
The company will run a promotion that invites people to trade in their existing Galaxy Z Fold or Galaxy Z Flip phone. The trade in value will likely be significant, thereby reducing the overall cost for customers.
Much like the Thom Browne edition last year, there's also going to be a special edition this year that will go on sale separately. The release timeframe for the new foldables is reportedly the same as what has already been rumored. August 27 is when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are expected to go on sale.
Samsung hasn't confirmed it as yet but there's reason to believe that its next Unpacked event will take place on August 11. There will be new smartwatches and earbuds unveiled at this event as well alongside the new phones.
