A few days ago, Samsung launched its first QD-OLED TV, the S95B. The display panel used in the QD-OLED TV is made by Samsung Display, and it is also used in Sony's 2022 flagship TV. According to a new report from The Elec, Samsung's QD-OLED panels use Corning's Astra Glass panels.
With the help of Corning's Astra Glass, Samsung's QD panels generate vivid and intense colors. They also help in offering a wider viewing angle, enhanced color performance, and increased efficiency within a thin-form factor. All these features help the panels offer a better viewing experience. Astra Glass is also suitable for high-temperature QD panel manufacturing, thanks to its advanced characteristics and high-performance, pure and thin substrates.
Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels will be used in many upcoming high-end TVs and monitors that will be launched this year. The South Korean firm is expected to produce over a million QD-OLED panels this year.
