While all eyes are on the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, many more people should be excited about the Galaxy A16. It will likely be the first entry-level Android smartphone to offer six years of Android OS updates. Now, detailed Galaxy A16 specifications have leaked just days before its announcement.
Galaxy A16 and A16 5G specifications leak
The Galaxy A16 and the Galaxy A16 5G could be launched soon, as their detailed specifications have leaked. Both phones have the same specifications except for the processor and 5G connectivity.
The Galaxy A16 uses the MediaTek Helio G99 processor and has 4G LTE connectivity, while the Galaxy A16 5G will come equipped with the Exynos 1330/Dimensity 6300+ chip and 5G connectivity. They will reportedly run Android 14 out of the box and get six major Android OS updates and security patches for six years.
Both phones have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. They have a 13MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The two devices have 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Galaxy A16 could be compatible with up to 1.5TB microSD cards
While the Galaxy A16 5G is compatible with up to 1TB microSD cards, the Galaxy A16 goes one step ahead, at least according to the report, with 1.5 TB microSD card compatibility.
The Galaxy A16 and the Galaxy A16 5G have GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. They will also be Samsung's cheapest phones with an IP54 for dust and water resistance. Both phones reportedly have a 5,000mAh battery and have 25W fast charging.
