Apart from regular Android OS updates, Samsung consistently releases new security patches to its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. These security patches keep devices safe and secure and make sure that attackers can't have access to user data. But there's one more way you can keep your device secured.
You can separately install Google Play system updates on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet. These updates are released directly by Google and you can install them independently of Samsung's Android OS updates and security updates.
How to download Google Play system updates on Galaxy devices
To install a Google Play system update, do the following:
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
Step 2: Tap Biometrics and Security.
Step 3: Now, tap on Google Play system update. The device will now check for the latest update and install it. If there's a new update, you may have to restart your device once the update is installed.
If you don't install these updates manually, they are installed automatically when your phone restarts. But this process could happen only once every few months, so it's better to check for Google Play system updates from time to time and install them manually to keep your Galaxy device as secure as possible.
