The Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update is already released for the Google Pixel phones and brings some good-to-have features, including support for 21 Unicode 15 emoji. The Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update reportedly brings easier access to the transient taskbar on tablets and foldables.
We all know how Google is adding useful features to Android 13 to provide a better experience on big-screen devices, including tablets and foldables. The transient taskbar is another Android 13 QPR2 feature for tablets and foldable phones. It isn't visible all the time but appears when you swipe up from the bottom edge. You can also activate it by long-pressing and holding the transient taskbar when it is visible.
In the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1 update, you needed to long press the navigation bar when using a full-screen app to activate the transient taskbar. However, with the latest Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update, Esper senior editor Mishaal Rahman notes that you can access the transient taskbar with just a short swipe-up gesture on the navigation bar. Do note that you need to swipe up a bit farther from the bottom in order to actually activate the taskbar.
Once revealed, if there is no interaction with the transient taskbar, it will disappear automatically within a few seconds. This improvement in the behavior of the transient taskbar in the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update lends credence that it will roll out in a future stable Android update. It is technically enabled by default in Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2. In fact, you can even tweak the transient taskbar setting the Smallest width value to 600 or higher under the Drawing section of the Developer Options settings.
