Samsung's One UI 5.1 update, introduced alongside the Galaxy S23 series, added a handful of new features to the Gallery app, such as the Image Clipper, which so far remained exclusive to the latest flagship phones. But not for long. The Image Clipper will supposedly land on older Galaxy phones soon.
The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 lineups may get the Image Clipper feature next month, in April, says a tipster on Twitter. There's no mention of other Galaxy phones, so whether or not the Galaxy S21 and S22 are the only ones to get this Gallery feature next month is to be determined.
A previous rumor claimed that Samsung intends to bring the Image Clipper feature to a variety of Galaxy phones running One UI 5.1 through a Gallery update, the list of devices including the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 lineups, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and up, and Galaxy Z Flip foldable phones.
Image Clipper is a neat new Gallery feature that could be described as a souped-up auto-snipping tool. Tap and hold an object in a photo to crop it in an instant as if through magic. The cropped object is immediately ready to be copied or shared and turned into its own image or sticker. This feature works across the entire Galaxy S23 range and doesn't require an S Pen.
