The Galaxy Z Flip doesn't have support for 5G but Samsung is going to launch a 5G variant of the device in the near future. We already know it's coming and now, we've come to know that Samsung is going to offer a brand new color for this device as well.
Samsung has only released the LTE variant of the Galaxy Z Flip so far. However, given that 2020 is supposed to be the year of 5G for Samsung, it's no surprise that the company following up with another variant of the device.
Samsung to launch a 5G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G will more or less be the same device as the existing Galaxy Z Flip. We have already confirmed that it will feature 256GB of internal storage just like the LTE variant. There's no 512GB or 128GB variant in development at this time.
Bearing model number SM-F707, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will hit shelves in most markets where carriers have already flipped the switch on their next-gen networks. It's unlikely that there would be a significant difference in price compared to the LTE variant.
The device will indeed be available in the existing black and purple color options. We also hear that there's going to be a brand new brown color for the device, one that's not available for the LTE Galaxy Z Flip. Samsung has created a new brown finish that it intends to use for foldable devices, because we also hear that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be available in brown as well.
Samsung hasn't said as yet when it's going to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 5G but it shouldn't take more than a couple of months for the device to arrive.
