It's been a couple of weeks since Samsung launched the One UI 5.0 beta program. Earlier this week, the company started rolling out the One UI 5.0 beta 2 to the Galaxy S22 series. It's yet to expand the program to other eligible devices.
While that will happen in due course, a new rumor suggests when the One UI 5.0 public release may take place. It was previously expected that the release might happen in October. An expected date has now been revealed.
One UI 5.0 public release likely in October
We had exclusively reported a few months back that the One UI 5.0 public release will take place in October. That's backed up today by Korean Twitter leakster @RoderSuper. He claims that the One UI 5.0 update, which includes Android 13, will be released to the public for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra on either October 17 or October 19.
This essentially means that we should expect the much-awaited update to arrive in the third week of October. By that time, the One UI 5.0 beta program should have concluded successfully. In the coming weeks, we'll likely see Samsung releasing the beta firmware to other eligible devices, and there are many One UI 5.0 beta eligible devices.
Samsung fans will definitely be looking forward to the public release. They will finally be able to use Android 13 on their Galaxy devices. One UI 5.0 itself brings several new features. The second beta firmware that just started rolling out also brings new improvements.
