Exynos Galaxy S21 FE gets March 2025 security update

Samsung has released the March 2025 security update to the Exynos version of the Galaxy S21 FE in Asian countries.

A few days ago, Samsung released a new security update to the Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S21 FE. Now, the March 2025 security update is also available for the Exynos version of the smartphone in Asian countries.

Galaxy S21 FE with Exynos chip gets March 2025 security update

The latest software update, which is now available for the Exynos version of the Galaxy S21 FE (SM-G990E), comes with firmware version G990EXXSCFYC1. It brings the March 2025 security patch that fixes 58 security flaws in the software. The update is currently available in the Asian countries listed below.

  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam

The update could be released to the Exynos version of the Galaxy S21 FE in other countries in the next few weeks.

If you have a Galaxy S21 FE in the countries listed above, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. However, you need a PC that is running Windows OS and has the Odin tool for the manual firmware flashing process.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in 2022 with Android 12 onboard. It promised to release four major Android OS updates to the phone. It released the Android 13-based One UI 4.0 update in late 2022 and the Android 14-based One UI 6 update in late 2023.

It will get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update in the next couple of months and the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update sometime in late 2025.
