Meta has been known to get inspired by its competitors and bring popular features from them to its products. The Stories feature is the best example here. Now, after making it available to Instagram and WhatsApp, Meta is spreading the broadcast channel feature to the Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps.

The broadcast channel feature on Facebook and Facebook Messenger will go live in the coming weeks. Thanks to this, users who manage Facebook Pages will be able to start broadcast channels and engage with their followers on any topic catering to their niche. FYI, a broadcast channel is a place where one person can send a message to many people.

Users will be notified when the Facebook broadcast channels feature is available to them

This feature works best for public figures, influencers, and celebrities to try and spread their message to the public who are connected with them. As per Meta, with broadcast channels, fans feel even more connected and dive deeper into the things that matter most to them. Anyone will be able to join someone's broadcast channel to have access to the channel's polls, behind-the-scenes photos or videos, and other interesting stuff.

If you run a Facebook Page, then you can access the broadcast channel feature from your Page, only if the feature is live in the region where you are living. For others, they can join the waitlist. Whenever the first message is sent from a new channel, all followers of your page will be spammed with the message as well as be asked to join the channel. Do note that only the Page owner can send messages and followers can only react and vote in polls.

If you are at the receiver's end, then you will get spammed with every new message there is on the broadcast channel of a Page that you have joined. You can mute these messages. Meta calls these broadcast channels on Facebook “public and discoverable chat experiences.” Below are some broadcast channels on Facebook and Messenger that you can join now.
